6 Self-Reflection Questions to Help You Manifest Magic in 2019
The end of the year is the perfect time for self-reflection. As we wrap up one year and begin a new one, it’s time for us to reflect on how we grew over these last twelve months. It’s time to ask ourselves what lessons were learned and how we overcame challenges. It’s time to celebrate our successes and explore how we can do things even better.
Self-reflection offers us a space to connect with our inner self; a time to stop and tune into the voice within and reassess our values, vision and goals. This is not always an easy task to do. We often tend to stay stuck in our habitual ways and don’t know how to question ourselves into the intimate layers of our subconscious. If we lack awareness around our subconscious beliefs and drivers, then we tend to keep manifesting from a belief system that may be outdated or not fully aligned with our present selves.
With 2019 being a manifestation year, now is the time to get super clear on what we want. The key to magical manifestation is clarity and belief. First, we need clarity around what we want and then we need to believe 100% that it’s possible. Remember, the universe brings us not what we want but what we believe is ours. So the more clarity and belief we have, the faster we manifest.
Here are 6 self-reflection questions to help you dig deep into your inner world and make 2019 your best year yet:
- What would my ideal day look like? (What’s the vision?)
To answer this question, set your imagination free by thinking of what your perfect day would look like. Don’t worry about how it’s going to happen or why you want it (in fact, don’t let left brain logic in at all). Simply think about what would be present in your ideal day. Where would you be? What’s happening around you? Who are you with? Picture all the details, acting as if it is happening in the present moment. Make sure to see yourself in the picture and tune into the feelings you feel and what you might be telling yourself.
I suggest writing out your vision in as much detail as you can. Writing it down adds a layer of commitment and you can use it throughout the year to keep you focused and on track.
- What is my most important value (what matters most to me)?
As you are focusing on your ideal day and how it is making you feel, think about what value you are fulfilling. What matters most to you? Linking your values to your vision adds a layer of emotional leverage to your desires. This answers the question, why what you see in your vision is important for you. What does this vision ultimately offer you- what is the value?
Think of values such as happiness, peace, connection, love, courage, security, stability, purpose, passion, wisdom, confidence, beauty, kindness, intelligence, health, resilience, humility, grace etc.
- What is my #1 goal- what needs completion?
Think of the most important task you need to complete this year. Something big. Something you may have been meaning to finish but not committed to fully. Focus on one big goal and write it out as specifically as possible.
For example, I will lose 5 kilos by July 2019 and feel healthy and happy. Choose a goal that will impact all the other areas in your life.
- Who do I need to be in order to achieve what I want (what internal qualities do I need)?
This question asks you to tap into your inner resources and greatest qualities so that you can achieve what you want to achieve. For example, in January 2018 I set the goal to complete my book in 2018. To answer the question, who do I need to be in order to get this book done, I stated that I need to be disciplined and have strong boundaries. I needed to be committed, focused and resilient.
Such clarity offers you the right mindset to help you do what you need to do. There is no point of focusing on the “doing” if our attitude is poor. The right mindset gets us out of bed in the morning- it keeps us energized and inspired.
- Who are the most important people to me?
Research continues to prove that the quality of our lives is determined by the quality of our relationships. When you are reflecting on your ideal self and ideal day, think about who you include in your inner circle. Who are the people closest to you that uplift you, support you and encourage you to be your best? These are the people who you share your time, energy and inspiration with. Being surrounded by a strong network of love and support will encourage you to keep going and keep you focused.
Part of this process is committing to eliminating people that drain you, use you or bring negativity in your life. In order to have strong boundaries, we need to say no to anything or anyone that drains us or wastes our time. This ensures that we break the pattern of pleasing people and putting others needs over our own. Once we fully back ourselves and surround ourselves with positive energy, we manifest at lightning speed.
- How can I deepen my relationships (how can I give and how can I receive )
This question takes you deeper into your inner circle to explore how you can give more to those that matter most to you and how you can receive more. This means being completely open, present and deeply engaged.
Ask yourself the following questions: How can I drop my guard? How can I be more open and vulnerable? How can I be more authentic, kind, loving or caring? How can I be more present and commit more time?
This allows you to take your relationships to a deeper level and therefore increase your connections.
Here are a few tips for creating the space for self-reflection:
- Go somewhere quiet, on your own, preferably out in nature.
- Go for a walk, do yoga, exercise or a short guided meditation to ground you get your mind into a state of flow where you can tap into your creativity and intuition.
- Use a journal or write notes into your phone or iPad.
- Get clear around whatever obstacles are standing in your way and how you can overcome them.
- If you are struggling with focus, direction, clarity or feel blocked, reach out and work with a coach.
May 2019 be a year filled with magic, miracles and magnificence xxx
